Tenix Defence Systems
The Systems Division of Tenix Defence Systems is the centre of expertise for in-house simulation. Recognising the importance that HLA would play in future simulation architecture, the owners invested in High Level Architecture (HLA) R&D to position Tenix as an HLA subject matter expert.
Tenix Systems Division, working with Raydon Corporation has recently delivered an HLA based technology demonstrator incorporating an M1A1 Precision Gunnery Trainer to the US Marine Corps. This demonstrator is a mix of man in the loop controlled vehicles and synthetic Semi Automated Forces (SAF) operating as an HLA federation in desert and European battlespace scenarios. As part of this demonstrator, Tenix delivered three extensive visual and thermal databases correlated to tactical databases used by the SAF application.
Tenix has begun delivery of staged builds of the Australian Army's Army Synthetic Environment (ASE) program at Puckapunyal. Tenix is working with the Army to design an open, non-proprietary simulation architecture that embraces such standards as HLA.
Tenix is also developing the AMSTAR Ground Surveillance Radar (GSR) operational training system as a part of Project Ninox under which Tenix is developing the trainer and some sensor modifications. Working with the RAN, Tenix recently delivered an Acoustic Data Recorder/Manual Radar Controller (ADR/MRC) for the Seahawk flight simulator at RANAS Nowra and also participates in the DSTO Virtual Ship project.
Visual modelling strengths have also featured in Tenix projects for the NSW Environmental Protection Agency with a visualisation model of nitrous oxide dispersion in the Sydney basin and a series of walk-through models for future aircraft internal design assessments for an undisclosed customer.
