Canberra, Australia's capital, is a beautiful city of some 300,000 people living around three lakes. The city is famous for its parks, museums and art galleries. In late May, the days are cool but typically sunny, ranging from 5°-15° C.

Transport

Shuttle Buses

Buses have been arrranged to collect delegates from the conference hotels in the morning, and to transport them back in the evening, plus to and from the Conference Dinner and Social Evening, as follows:

Starting at Waldorf Apartments - 7.45am
then Novotel, Kytheria, Canbera Executive Apartments, Chifley, Saville, Parklands to arrive at EPIC at aroud 8.30am.

From EPC to Hotels listed above at 8.00pm (Monday after Welcome Reception), but on Tuesday to Wednesday at 5.15pm.

There will also be a coach to the Conference Dinner on 30 May leaving hotels at 6.30pm and returning at 10.45pm.

Air

Qantas is the official conference airline We are pleased to announce Qantas has been appointed official airline for SimTecT 2001.

A discount of up to 45% off the full economy airfare excluding taxes at the time of booking has been negotiated for this conference, subject to seat availability in group class. Please note that if you wish to fly to Canberra to attend a morning session you are advised to fly in the night before as fog is a common problem at Canberra airport and may delay your flight.


Transport from the Airport

Approximately 20 minutes by taxi from the airport to the conference venue. The cost will be around $20.
