Call for Abstracts

This is an invitation to all members of the national and international simulation and training community to submit papers for the SimTecT 2005 Conference.

Simulation – Fulfilling the Promise
Successes and Visions for the Road Ahead

The 10th SimTecT conference is an exciting opportunity to take a look back at how far simulation and training technology has come, and to look forward to where the ingenuity of the members of the simulation community will take us in the years to come.
Philip Swadling- Conference Convenor

The Program

SimTecT 2005 is seeking papers from all areas related to simulation, training and modelling - particularly in defence, transport, and manufacturing. The SimTecT 2005 Committee wishes to encourage papers indicating the actual or potential means by which simulation can be used under theme "Simulation – Fulfilling the Promise". Case studies describing experiences and lessons learned are particularly welcome. Student participation is also encouraged.

The SIAA is offering financial assistance for Best Paper winners to attend I/ITSEC 2005 in the US or SimTecT 2006 in Melbourne. To encourage student participation A Student Best Paper award and a special student discount registration fee are available for full time students.

A Refereed Papers option is available for authors from academic or research institutions.

You can read about the call for papers on this website or download the call for papers in PDF format.

Paper Submission Requirements

Papers must conform to the template which is available for download from this website.

Papers and Presentation

Authors are invited to submit papers to SimTecT 2005. Acceptance of the paper will be accompanied by details of speaker requirements. The papers must be unclassified and must include appropriate copyright, company and/or government clearance. Authors will be required to identify the category of their paper in the conference (from the list of 8 above). Papers previously presented or published as well as marketing papers will not be accepted.

Paper presentations will be of 20 minutes duration, consisting of a 15 minute presentation and a 5 minute question period.

Audio visual aids will be provided for PowerPoint 2000 for Windows2003 (or equivalent). Computers with CDs will be provided. Presenters may use their own laptops by special arrangement. No other presentation medium shall be permitted without prior arrangement.

A draft of the program for SimTecT 2005 will be released on the SIAA website one month prior to the Conference. The Final Program will be released one week prior.
