Venue

The venue for the SimTecT 2007 Simulation Conference and Exhibition is the Brisbane Convention Centre, located on the south bank of the Brisbane River, in Brisbane's CBD.

Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, is central to Australia’s fastest growing metropolitan region, South East Queensland, which occupies 1,140 square kilometres. Brisbane is located close to other leading cities in the Asia Pacific region. Brisbane has more sunny days than Florida and warmer winter days than the Bahamas, with temperatures ranging from 10 – 20°C in June. Simulation activity in Queensland is rapidly expanding, with new helicopter simulators, Combined Training Centre exercises, mining and construction simulators to add to the existing defence, civil aviation, rail and healthcare training centres.

Partner Program

There's no denying it. Brisbane stands out as the quintessential Australian destination that delivers a complete package of great urban experiences and authentic nature experiences. So while you're busy networking at conference, let your partner experience all that Brisbane has to offer…

Brisbane delivers all the essential offerings of a young, modern city - cosmopolitan art and performance houses, award-winning restaurants, fabulous shopping precincts and a lively club, pub and bar scene. And when you're not enjoying a long leisurely Sunday breakfast alfresco style or unearthing new fashion treasures in our urban villages you might just find yourself kayaking down the river, scaling the heights of our inner-city cliffs or cycling along the 500+ kilometres of city bikeways.

Drag yourself away from our urban delights and you'll find yourself 45 minutes down the road walking amongst the tree-tops of ancient rainforests, sharing the surf with dolphins, wine-tasting at the local vineyard or exploring country villages. Then again, you might find yourself sand-tobogganing down the sand dunes of Moreton Island or hand-feeding wild dolphins under the evening stars of the Southern Cross.

With our prime position at the heart of the burgeoning South East Queensland region Brisbane is the perfect urban hub for easy day-trip explorations of the Gold and Sunshine Coasts. The Gold Coast lies one hour to the south, the Sunshine Coast lies one hour to the north, and just 45 minutes from Brisbane's city centre you'll find a premier collection of theme parks including Dreamworld, Warner Brothers Movie World, the Australian Outback Spectacular and Australia Zoo.
