Brisbane is both the place to play and the place to do business in Australia. An alive and bustling city of 1.6million people it features all the requisite offerings of the nation's fastest growing capital - world-class facilities and ever-expanding infrastructure, unparalleled support services, and remarkable recreational experiences that take you beyond your business program. The world's largest hotel and tourism groups are also represented here and are located, along with an array of unique venues perfect for welcome receptions and gala functions, within close proximity to the city centre. Couple these with truly delectable dining experiences, shopping strips fit for the fashion faithful, award-winning bars and nightclubs and a sophisticated collection of artistic encounters and you have the ideal destination for business and leisure. Downtown Brisbane itself is home to the state's premier shopping precinct - the open-air Queen Street Mall. Here local designer labels stand proudly alongside international fashion houses and have even the most nonchalant shoppers itching for a spending spree. Mere minutes away, on the Brisbane River's southern banks, lies South Bank. This award-winning people's precinct, most famous for housing Australia's only inner city beach, will soon also lay claim to owning the largest gallery of modern art in Australia - QGMA. But there are things that set Brisbane even further apart. Year-round magnificent weather, floating river walkways, stunning riverside parks and the world's largest subtropical garden make it the ideal place to enjoy the outdoors. Indeed, Brisbane's urban landscape lends itself to a program of truly innovative adventure experiences. And this is without even mentioning the trendy urban villages such as West End, Fortitude Valley and New Farm that surround the city centre, the quaint country townships, World Heritage-listed rainforests and stunning island escapes that lie beyond these - a mere hour or so from Brisbane's CBD. With our prime position at the heart of the burgeoning South East Queensland region Brisbane is the perfect urban hub for easy day-trip explorations of the Gold and Sunshine Coasts. The Gold Coast lies one hour to the south, the Sunshine Coast lies one hour to the north, and just 45 minutes from Brisbane's city centre you'll find a premier collection of theme parks including Dreamworld, Warner Brothers Movie World, the Australian Outback Spectacular and Australia Zoo. A desirable, progressive and youthful leisure destination. Things to Do and SeeComing from Overseas?A Brisbane base means easy access to the rest of Australia and some of the world's greatest attractions.
