Message from the Convenor

Deanna Hutchinson - SimTecT 2009 ConvenorOur theme "Simulation - Concepts, Capability and Technology" focuses on the breadth of simulation applications for an organization and throughout the life-cycle of a project, and the technology advancements which deliver increasing benefits. It encompasses the cost-effective use of simulation for the training of users, experimentation and analysis, concept and capability development, planning, system design refinement and validation, and process and systems modelling.

This applies to customers and suppliers in all sectors - including Defence, Transport, Emergency Management, Heavy Industries, Manufacturing and Education.

A feature of SimTecT is the technical program – pre-conference courses, over 100 technical and applications papers, conference proceedings (which can be cited), symposia, keynote addresses and special presentations. The courses earn currency unit credits towards the SIAA’s Professional Certification Award. Organisations are welcome to include the Conference program as part of their staff’s continuing professional education process.

The SimTecT 2009 Conference and Exhibition builds on the success of the previous thirteen SimTecTs to provide an opportunity for the simulation community to discover the latest research and product advances, and to discuss applications with developers and users.

The Organising Committee and I look forward to seeing you in Adelaide on 15th June 2009.
