The Professional Conference Organisers will be on-site from Friday, 31 May 2010. Contact to the office regarding the Conference will need to be made before this date. Registrations will not be accepted from Friday, 28 May 2010, 12noon. You will need to register on-site after this time.

General Information

Accommodation Bookings

Make your Accommodation bookings as part of your Registration to receive the Conference discounts - do not contact the hotels directly.

Personal Insurance

Delegates shall be regarded in every aspect as carrying their own risk for loss or injury to person or property, including baggage during the Conference and Symposium. We strongly recommend that at the time of booking your travel and tours you take out a travel insurance policy of your choice.

The policy taken should include the loss of deposit through cancellation, medical insurance, loss or damage to personal property, financial loss incurred through disruptions to accommodation or travel arrangements due to strikes or other industrial action. The organisers are in no way responsible for any claims concerning insurance.

Dress

Recommended dress for the Conference is:

  • ADF Uniformed Personnel: Dress of the day or equivalent business attire for Conference sessions. Mess kit, dress of the day or lounge suit for the Conference dinner. Smart casual attire for other social events.
  • Civilians: Casual business attire for Conference sessions. Lounge suit for the Conference dinner. Smart casual attire for other social events.

Liability Waiver

In the event of industrial disruptions, the Conference and the organisers accept no responsibility. In the event of the venue becoming unusable, or other circumstances, or the need to cancel the Conference, there can be no liability on the organisers.

No-Smoking Policy

All the function rooms at the Brisbane Convention Centre are NON SMOKING.

Registration Desk and Times

The Conference registration desk will be situated in the foyer outside the trade exhibition (Great Hall) of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and staffed as follows:

Special Needs

We endeavour to ensure delegates with special needs are catered for. Should you require particular assistance, please make a note on your registration form or please contact the Conference Organiser.

Cancellation / Refunds

Delegates who find themselves unable to attend the Conference after submitting a registration form are most welcome to nominate a substitute. In the case of a cancellation, delegates must inform the Professional Conference Organisers in writing of their inability to attend. A refund of registration fees, less a cancellation fee of $155.00 including GST can only be made if you cancel on or before Friday, 30 April 2010. If just a workshop, social function or site visit is cancelled, there will be no cancellation fee. No refunds will be made to anything after Friday, 30 April 2010. All refunds are made by cheque with the exception of International Delegates. All refunds prior to 30 May 2010 will be made after the conference.

Changes/Amendments

Alternations to, or changes to your Conference registration can be made via your access key. Any changes after Monday 10 May 2010 will incur an administrative fee of $40.00 including GST. See above paragraph for Cancellation Policy for registrations.

Privacy Clause

In registering for this Conference, relevant details will be incorporated into a delegate list for the benefit of all delegates (name and organisation only), and may be made available to parties directly related to the Conference including Consec – Conference Management, the Simulation Industry Association of Australia (SIAA), the Conference Organising Committee, venues and accommodation providers (for the purposes of room bookings and Conference options), key sponsors (subject to strict conditions) and parties associated with related Conferences.

By completing the registration form, you acknowledge that the details (name, organisation and state) supplied by you may be used for the above purposes.
